Our purpose is to assist Shanxi and other Chinese provinces by developing public benefit services for the common people through medical work, agricultural development, consulting, teaching English and rural economic development.

Evergreen operates with a strong team structure and works from three locations: Taiyuan City, Yuci City and Yangqu County. Evergreen has three support teams which are the office, an international school and the Chinese language team.

June 24th Update

Mark, Dave and Jinzhi were able to provide medical help, counseling and a plan for surveying for disease outbreaks in the camps. They spent three days in one location. A second team of 5 members, led by David Leung, MD returned to Sichuan on 21 to spend a week in the same camp we had been. There is much improvement since the first visit, with many temporary homes having been built and some people now finding work.  But this is a long struggle. We plan to send a team in early September to continue this rebuilding effort.

May 18th Update

Today a small team from Evergreen is headed to Chengdu to assist Dr. Robinson and others who are ministering to those living in tent camps.

Dr. Mark Strand (PhD Public Health), Dr. Dave Leung (MD) and Ginger Guo (Community Health work coordinator) are planning to provide basic medical care and assess how we can best be of use in the immediate future. Please pray for them and all the survivors of the earthquakes.
